HOW IT WORKS.WHY IT WORKS.

SEE THE THINKING IN ACTION →What does MODIS actually do?
We help organizations turn a business challenge into a clear direction and work that moves it forward. That can mean finding a growth opportunity, sharpening a brand, improving a customer journey or building the marketing needed to act on an insight.
Our approach connects Discover, Distill and Deliver: understand what’s happening, identify what matters, then put the right expertise behind it.
What does “fractional” mean at MODIS?
Fractional means you get the portion of senior leadership and specialist capability your business needs, without building every role into a full-time position.
A fractional leader might help set direction, a specialist might solve a defined challenge, and a team might carry the work through execution. The scope, responsibilities and level of involvement are agreed around your needs.
Which capabilities can you bring to the table?
We can assemble fractional support for just about every part of a brand’s marketing and communications needs: strategic leadership, research and intelligence, brand positioning, creative direction, design, copy and content, digital experiences, media, marketing technology, customer journeys and measurement. Our partners also bring fractional CFO, financial planning and business operations expertise.
You don’t have to know which specialist to ask for. Bring us the problem. We’ll identify the capabilities it calls for and confirm the right people, scope and availability.
How is MODIS different from an agency?
MODIS connects senior thinking with the specialists who can put it to work. You can get strategic direction, intelligence and execution within one coordinated approach, instead of managing those pieces separately.
Our model gives you direct access to experienced people and builds the team around the challenge. The value is enterprise-level capability with fewer layers and less fixed overhead.
Can you work with our existing team or agency?
Yes. We can strengthen an internal team, fill a missing capability or work alongside an existing agency. You may need senior direction, an outside perspective or extra expertise for a specific initiative.
We agree roles and responsibilities at the start so everyone understands who owns the decisions, who delivers the work and how the pieces fit together.
How do you choose the right people and capabilities?
We start with the business problem, the desired outcome and what is already in place. Then we identify the gaps and build the combination of leadership and specialists needed to address them.
That may be one experienced person or several complementary capabilities. The goal is a stronger whole: the right expertise, coordinated around a shared direction.
Can we start with one project?
Both can make sense. An engagement can focus on a defined project, a discovery and strategy assignment, a launch or ongoing fractional support.
The arrangement should follow the need. We agree the scope, deliverables and working rhythm, then revisit them as priorities change.
What if we can’t define the problem yet?
That is a good place to start. You might see stalled growth, inconsistent messaging, too much activity without enough impact or a team that is stretched in the wrong places.
We use discovery to examine the signals, ask better questions and distinguish symptoms from the underlying challenge. You don’t need a finished brief to have a useful conversation.
How is an engagement priced?
Pricing reflects the scope, complexity, capabilities involved and level of support required. A focused assignment and an ongoing fractional team have different needs, so we define the work before proposing the investment.
Our model is designed to give you access to experienced people and enterprise-level thinking without carrying every capability as full-time overhead. The proposed scope and cost are clear before work begins.
How do you measure the impact?
We agree what success should look like and establish a useful starting point. The measures follow the problem: stronger visibility, better engagement, more qualified opportunities, improved conversion or clearer decisions and execution.
We review progress against the agreed goals and use what we learn to adjust the work. An identified opportunity is a starting point; we distinguish it from results achieved.
